Weekly Jams no. 19

Handpicked and curated with love, Weekly Jams is a playlist of all the best music that’s just dropped. This edition is made up of almost all local tracks – many of which are debut or sophomore offerings.

KUREN – HOME (FT. BEN ALESSI)

This, is the excellent result of two extraordinarily talented dudes from different sides of the world collaborating. Kuren, the 18 year old producer from Rural NSW and New York’s Ben Alessi.

DAGGY MAN – WHAT YOU DESIRE

The second cut from Daggy Man (otherwise known as Thomas Calder’s) upcoming album A Lazy Kind Of Pain. The records’ release date is still TBC, but it’ll be out sometime later this year.

BEACH BABY – LOST SOUL

Collaborating with Charlie Rotberg of Beaty Heart to put this video together, Beach Baby channel some vintage vibes.

PURE MOODS – BLURB

The debut single from a band formed in the early hours of various house parties across Melbourne. Quaint, jangly goodness.

TOMMY – GOLDMINE

Brooding beats and vocals that are lush as heck, Tommy ticks all the boxes on her latest track.

CLIENT LIAISON – WORLD OF OUR LOVE

How could we not? Client Liaison are a national treasure.

TRè SAMUELS – FLYING WITHOUT YOU

Smooth R&B with a subtle funk and soul influence. A seriously impressive debut from the Melbourne artist.

BATTS – KIKI

Produced with longtime collaborator Ficci, ‘Kiki’ is a track which puts Batts’ (otherwise known as Tanya Batt) vocals to the forefront, and for good reason. Her whispery vocals convey so much raw emotion, it’s hard not to become completely absorbed.

NATIVE SPIRIT – LOOK AROUND

A track absolutely jammed with buoyant beats and infectious hooks. Native Spirit have got a good thing going here.

BAD PONY – SIDEWAYS

Fast paced, utterly danceable indie pop at it’s finest.

BANFF X CAITLIN PARK – MY LOVE, MY LOVER

Two of the most angelic voices in Australian music teaming up? My heart.

GLASS ANIMALS – LIFE ITSELF

We all knew something big was coming, but, dayum. Glass Animals know how to lay down a tune, every time. This is the first cut from upcoming record How To Be A Human Being.

BLYOLK – DON WOWRY

The blyolk project may be in it’s early days, but the 20 year old producer and multi instrumentalist is already turning out engaging, if not slightly strange pop tracks. One to watch.

MATT GRESHAM – GHOST

Currently on tour with Vera Blue, the Sydney via WA singer songwriter has dropped an impressive new track. With an EP just around the corner, it’s an exciting time for Matt Gresham.

BREE TRANTER – TUESDAY FRESH CUTS

The latest single from her just-announced album, Another Night On Earth. A video directed and produced by Bree herself, it’s DIY, but beautifully warm and intimate.
