Weekly Jams No.22

Handpicked and curated with love, Weekly Jams is a playlist of all the best music that’s just dropped. This edition sees a few contenders for Video Of The Year as well as some excellent singer/songwriter gear out of Melbourne.

ALEX LAHEY – Let’s Go Out

This Melbourne gal consistently kills it. Another taste of upcoming debut EP, B Grade University.

GOOD BOY – POVERTY LINE

While they’re not necessarily a political band, the Brisbane group have put together a track which offers some pretty stark commentary on the issues of  being young and trying to make ends meet.

MANE – Bitter

Glitchy pop teamed with somewhat classical, yet brooding piano tones. A pretty exciting first taste off soon to be released EP, House Of Horrors.

THE GOODS – Nightlife Ft. Bruce Hathcock

Spacey, electro soul funk? Yes please. Totally on board with what the Sydney duo are laying down.

MARY HANDSOME – NO HOT NO MORE

Um, this is one of the coolest clips of the year. The Brisbane boys are getting it done.

BILLY FOX – Avalanche

Instant James Blake vibes on this one. A blissful cut of subtle soul and RnB.

GOLDEN VESSEL – Wave Ft. OKBADLANDS

Fun fact. Golden Vessel cannot put a foot wrong. Another stunning track from the Brisbane producer.

BADBADNOTGOOD – Lavender Ft. KAYTRANADA

What happens when two instrumental powerhouses team up? Glad you asked. Absolute fire.

Sample Answer – Good Boy

A smattering of genres and influences, all bridged by engaging lyrics and one hell of a voice. Australia, meet London based singer/songwriter, Sample Answer.

MICKEY COOPER – JOHN CURTIN HOTEL FREAKOUT

The Melbourne songwriter tells the story of a difficult time with incredible poise. Raw, earnest and extraordinarily special.

FLOWER DRUMS – IDLE TIME

Smooth, dreamy vibes in spades. Welcome back Flower Drums! *Prayer emoji*

FEUDS – RIVER OF WINE

Soaring vocals and riffs in all the right places. Feuds know how to make an anthem.

THE CREASES – IMPACT

That feeling when an exceptional track is now accompanied by an exceptional video. V GOOD.
